Qualifying Ends at Women’s Tennis ITA Midwest Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State women’s tennis player Erica Fisk (Fr., Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) posted her third win in qualifying to advance to the main draw at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Fisk defeated Marquette’s Ana Pavolvic in two sets, 6-1, 7-6 (5), for her third-consecutive win in qualifying. She was one of eight players in the 64-player draw to advance to the main draw of the tournament.
In doubles qualifying, the tandem of Claudia Castro (Jr., Dublin, Ohio/Aquinas (Wis.) and Taryn Bowen fell in the second round of the 32-team draw. They were defeated by Western Michigan’s duo of Melanie Remynse and Valeria Stoilova, 8-6.
In the main draw, the rounds of 64 and 32 in both singles and doubles will be played Saturday, Nov. 4.
