Women’s Swimming Places Fourth at Northwestern Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s swimming team (1-7 overall, 0-3 in the Big Ten) placed fourth at the Northwestern Invitational in Evanston, Ill., with a score of 243. No. 1 UCLA won the invitational with a score of 735. Host No. 19 Northwestern came in second at 627 and USC placed third with 243 points at the three-day event.%^$
%^$OSU had three swimmers score points in the 50 freestyle. Katie Severson (Fr., Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West) placed ninth (:24.74), Amanda Messmer (Jr., Worthington, Ohio) placed 12th (:25.21) and Kristin Sander (Jr., Cincinnati, Ohio/Mother of Mercy) came in 16th (:25.50).%^$
%^$Kristin Sendrowski (So., Garden City, N.J./Frank Carey) placed eighth for OSU in the 400 individual medley (4:33.08) and the 100 butterfly (:58.84). She came in 11th in the 200 individual medley (2:09.58).%^$
%^$The OSU 400 Medley Relay of Amanda Treleaven (Colonal Light, Australia), Erica Staley (So., Piqua, Ohio/Piqua) Sendrowski and Severson placed fourth with a time of 3:57.38.%^$
%^$OSU will face Cleveland State Tuesday in Cleveland.%^$
