Women’s Swimming and Diving Travels to West Virginia this Friday – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State Women’s swimming and diving team (0-1 overall, 0-0 Big Ten) will compete in a dual meet with West Virginia and Rutgers at West Virginia this Friday at 3 p.m.%^$
%^$Fleck On This Weekend
%^$Coach Jeanne Fleck was pleased with her squad’s overall performance last Saturday at Ohio, but she will tinker with the linup this Friday in Morgantown.%^$”We will be looking to try some different things with our lineup an see if they work better for us,” Fleck said. “We swam well last weekend but couldn’t overcome some holes so we’ll try to patch those up.”%^$
%^$Fleck Maps Out Season Goals
%^$Entering her second year at the helm of the Ohio State women’s swimming program, Jeanne Fleck, women’s swimming head coach, has mapped out four goals for her team: *First, to improve times and have swimmers qualify for the NCAA Championships. *Second, to improve the team’s conference standing.%^$*Third, to improve OSU’s record in dual meets.%^$* Fourth, to bring the team together as a solid unit.%^$
%^$Seniors and Newcomers Win
%^$Kristen Sendrowski and Erica Staley ,who both qualified for the USA Olympic trials, teamed up with newcomers Katie Severson and Amanda Treleaven to win the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:55.32 at Ohio last week.%^$Sendrowski also won the 200 Fly with a time of 2:05.06.%^$Last season, Sendrowski had team best times in the 200 Butterfly (2:01.58), 200 individual medley (2:06.38) and the 400 individual medley (4:28.14) and qualified for the Olympic Trials in the 200 Fly.%^$
%^$Divers Don’t Miss A Beat
%^$OSU’s divers picked up where they left off last February, when they won both the one and three meter events at the Big Ten Championships and outscored oponents by a landslide margin. Against Ohio, newcomer Natalia Diea (Austin, Texas/Texas Univ.) won the three meter event with a score of 268.35. Holly Underwood won the one meter dive with a score of 268.35 and finished second behind Diea in the three-meter, giving the Buckeyes a sweep on the boards.%^$
%^$First Meeting with Rutgers
%^$Saturday will mark the first time OSU and Rutgers will meet in women’ swimming.%^$
%^$OSU vs. West Virginia
%^$The Buckeyes lead the all-time series with West Virginia, 3-1. The Buckeyes defeated the Mountaineers, 131-112, last Nov. 12 at the Mike Peppe Aquatic Center.%^$

%^$The Buckeyes face off with Big Ten foes Iowa and Purdue next saturday in Iowa City, Iowa. The meet starts at 3 p.m.%^$
