Women’s Swimming Falls to Iowa and Purdue – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s swimming team (1-4 overall, 0-2 in the Big Ten) was defeated by host Iowa, 165-132, and Purdue, 171-127, at a dual-meet in Iowa City, Iowa.
OSU was led by Kristin Sendrowski (So., Garden City, N.J./Frank Carey), who was a triple-winner for the Buckeyes. Sendrowski captured first in the 100 butterfly (:57.35), 200 butterfly (2:03.86) and 400 individual medley (4:27.38).
Holly Underwood (Jr., Conroe, Texas/Oak Ridge) won the one-meter dive (265.30) and Natalia Diea (Austin, Texas/Texas University) took the three-meter event (309.00) to give the Buckeyes their third sweep on the boards in as many meets.
OSU also had strong showings from freshmen Amanda Treleaven (Colonal Light, Australia) and Camilla Heglesson (Malmo, Sweden/Malmo Borgarhala). Treleaven took second in the 100 backstroke (:58.69) and 200 backstroke (2:05.50). Heglesson placed second in the 500 freestyle (5:07.07).
OSU will compete at the Northwestern Invitational next Friday-Sunday in Evanston, Ill.
