Women’s Swimming Falls to Ohio in Season Opener, 137-106 – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s swimming team (0-1 overall, 0-0 in the Big Ten) fell to Ohio, 137-106, in its season opener at the Ohio University Aquatic Center in Athens, Ohio.
Tricia Kessler and Kim van Selm, each of whom won three events, led Ohio to the victory.
The OSU 400 medley relay team of Amanda Treleaven (Fr., Colonol Light, Australia), Erika Staley (So., Piqua, Ohio/Piqua), Kristin Sendrowski (So., Garden City, N.J./Frank Carey) and Katie Severson (Fr., Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West) took first with a time of 3:55.23.
Severson also won the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:05.06.
Natalia Diea (Austin, Texas/Texas University) and Holly Underwood (Jr., Conroe, Texas/Oak Ridge) won the one and three meter dives, respectively, to give OSU a sweep on the boards. Diea scored a 306.45 in the three-meter dive. Underwood registered a 268.35 in the one-meter event.
The Buckeyes travel to Morgantown, W.Va. next Friday to face West Virginia at 6 p.m.
