Women’s Volleyball Moves To 11th and 8th In National Polls – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – %^$The undefeated Ohio State (14-0, 4-0 Big Ten) women’s volleyball team moved to 11th in the USA TODAY/AVCA Coaches Top 25 Poll and eighth in the Volleyball Magazine Top 20 Poll. Last week OSU was 19th and 15th, respectively in the polls. OSU’s rise in the national rankings comes as the Buckeyes have defeated three higher ranked teams in the last two weeks. Two weeks ago, Ohio State defeated No. 17 (USA TODAY/AVCA) Michigan State 3-1 (11-15, 15-5, 15-7, 15-11) and No. 21 Michigan 3-1 (15-11, 15-9, 11-15, 15-7). Last week the Buckeyes upset No. 10 Wisconsin 3-2 (14-16, 10-15, 15-11, 17-15, 15-12) in Madison. Ohio State completed the weekend with a 3-0 (15-2, 15-2, 15-8) win at Northwestern on Saturday.%^$
%^$Ohio State is currently tied for first place in the Big Ten with Minnesota (15-0, 4-0). The Buckeyes have a two-match homestand this weekend where they will face Purdue (9-7, 1-3) Friday and Illinois (9-6, 0-4) Saturday. Starting time for both matches is 7 p.m.%^$
