Women’s Swimming And Diving Falls To Northwestern – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio— The Ohio State women’s swimming and diving team was defeated by Northwestern, 173-124 at the Mike Peppe Aquatic Center Saturday in the final meet of the season. The Buckeyes’ finished the season at 3-8 overall and 0-5 in the Big Ten.
Ohio State’s seniors stood out in their final meet of their collegiate careers. Erica Fischer (Sr. Carson City, Nev.) took first place in the 1000 freestyle (10:24.85) and placed third in the 200 butterfly (2:08.02). Heidi Hazen (Sr. Mentor, Ohio) captured first place in the 100 butterfly (:56.49) and diver Carrie Ziebarth (Sr. Auburn, Wash.) won the 1-meter dive with a score of 290.63.
Kristen Sendrowski (So. Garden City, N.Y.) took first place in the 200 butterfly for the Buckeyes.
The Big Ten Championships, held in Indianapolis, Thursday, Feb. 17- Saturday Feb. 19 will be Ohio State’s next competition.
