Women’s Swimming And Diving Defeat Ball State – Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State women’s swimming and diving team defeated Ball State 139-104 in Muncie, Ind. OSU captured first place in 10 of the 12 events. Heidi Hazen (Sr., Mentor, Ohio) and Kristen Sander (So., Cincinnati, Ohio) were double-winners for the Buckeyes. Hazen took first place in the 50-yard freestyle (24.97) and the 100-yard butterfly (57.14). Sander won the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.96) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:09.28). Holly Underwood (So.,Conroe, Texas) won the one-meter dive with a score of 260.775 and placed second in the three-meter dive. Melanie Johnson (So., Boca Raton, Fla.) won the three-meter dive with a score of 293.85 The Buckeyes travel to Bloomington, Ind. to face Indiana tomorrow at 1 p.m. OSU will face Northwestern Saturday, Jan. 29 at 4 p.m. in the final home meet of the year at the Mike Peppe Aquatic Center.
