Men’s Gymnasts To Compete at United States Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State men’s gymnastics team members Jamie Natalie (Jr., Hockessin, Del.), a 1998-99 U.S. National Team member, and All-American Jay Nardelli (Jr., Centerville, Va.) will participate in the 1999 John Hancock U.S. Gymnastics Championships Aug. 26-28 in Sacramento, Calif. The U.S. National Team for 1999-00 will be chosen from the 30 gymnasts competing at the meet.%^$
%^$ Three-time defending meet champion and former Buckeye Blaine Wilson (Columbus, Ohio), will defend his title at the Championships. All-American Doug Stibel (Canton, Mich.), who completed his eligibility at Ohio State last season, also will participate.%^$
%^$ The top 14 gymnasts from the U.S. Championships will comprise the U.S. National Team that will compete in the World Team Trials, Sept. 15-18, in Kansas City, Mo. From there, the top six performers will represent the U.S. at the World Championships, Oct. 8-16, in Tiajnin, China. The U.S. team has to finish 12th or better at that event in order to qualify for the Olympic Games.%^$
