Calloway Wins Heat, Finishes Second Overall in Preliminaries of 400-Meter Hurdles at NCAA Track Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

BOISE, Idaho – Dominque Calloway (Jr., Aurora, Colo.) of Ohio State won her heat in the preliminaries of the 400-meter hurdles today at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Boise, Idaho. Her time (56.84) was second overall, trailing only Joanna Hayes of UCLA (56.55).%^$
%^$ Donica Merriman (So., Trotwood, Ohio) finished fifth in her heat in the preliminaries of the 200-meter dash (23.74).%^$
%^$ The meet continues tomorrow and runs through Saturday. In tomorrows action, the Buckeyes will send three competitors to the blocks. Calloway and Merriman will compete in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles, while Ian Connor (So., Lexington, Ohio) will run in the semifinals of the 3,000-meter steeplechase.%^$
