Women’s Tennis Undefeated in Big Ten After Defeating Penn State 6-1 – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State womens tennis team captured its fifth%^$straight win by downing Penn State 6-1 and remain undefeated in the Big%^$Ten (3-0) on Friday night. Kristy Dascoli (So., Bradenton, Fla.) led the%^$Buckeye charge with her win over Penn States Rebecca Ho, 6-4, 6-1 at%^$the No. 1 singles spot. Michelle Matko (Fr., Aurora, Ill.) notched%^$another victory at the No. 2 spot with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Janelle%^$Perez and Briana Harris (So., Bradenton, Fla.) defeated Martina%^$Kopacova, 6-2, 6-3. %^$
Leading 5-1, the Buckeyes clinched the match with all three doubles%^$teams capturing wins. No. 12-ranked Dascoli and Harris maintain their%^$dominance in doubles, defeating Ho and Kopacova, 8-5. The sophomore duo%^$now have a 8-3 record at the No. 1 spot and 15-8 overall.%^$
The Buckeyes (8-3, 3-0) are back home against Marshall on Sunday, March%^$7, 1999 at 10 a.m. at the Jesse Owens West Recreation Center. %^$
