Women’s Tennis Takes Down Purdue, 5-2 – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 26-ranked Ohio State women,s tennis team defeated the Purdue Boliermakers, 5-2 today in West Lafayette, Ind. The Buckeyes have posted an impressive 12-5 overall record and are 5-0 in Big Ten play.
Kristy Dascoli (So., Bradenton, Fla.) and Briana Harris (So., Bradenton, Fla) defeated Purdue,s No. 24-ranked team of Jennifer Embry and Missy Wright, 8-3. The No. 15-ranked sophomore duo now move to 11-4 in dual action and 19-10 overall this season.
In singles, Dascoli notched another win at the No. 1 spot over Embry, 6-3, 6-0 to give her an 11 match winning streak. Michelle Matko (Fr., Aurora, Ill.) took home a victory over Erika Quebe, 6-3, 7-6 and Monica Rincon (Fr., Lapeer, Mich.) defeated Missy Wright, 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 at the No. 4 spot. Purdue managed to notch two wins at the No. 3 and 6 spots, however with its four wins in singles, Ohio State captured the win and remain undefeated in the Big Ten.
Ohio State (12-5, 5-0) will have the week off to get ready for its matchup against Miami (O.) on April 7 at 2:30 p.m.
