COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 26 Ohio State Buckeyes wrapped up its spring break trip with a loss to the No. 25 Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes, 7-2, Wednesday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. OSUs record drops to 10-5 (3-0 Big Ten) while Miami is now 10-7.%^$
%^$The lone bright spot on the day for the Buckeyes was Kristy Dascoli (So., Bradenton, Fla.). The 1998 NCAA Singles qualifier won her ninth consecutive match, defeating Miami’s 18th-ranked Lioudmila Skavronskaia 6-4, 6-2. In those nine matches, Dascoli has not only won but been flat-out dominant. She has won each by straight sets and has lost an average of only four games per match during the winning streak.%^$
%^$Unfortunately for Ohio State, Dascoli’s efforts were not enough to bring home a victory. Each of the other singles slots went the Hurricanes way. The only other point OSU was able to win was at No. 1 doubles, where the doubles team of Dascoli and Briana Harris (So., Bradenton, Fla.), ranked No. 15 in the nation, defeated Skavronskaia and Eva Jimenez, 8-4.%^$
%^$The end of the spring break trip signals the completion of OSUs non-conference schedule. The Buckeyes return home to take on Indiana, March 27.%^$
