Pierce Sets New Field House Record, Buckeyes Finish Eighth Overall – Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State Buckeyes finished eighth on the final day of competition at the Big Ten Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Wisconsin today. The Spartans of Michigan State won the team competition.
The Buckeyes were led by Andrew Pierce (So, Yellow Springs, Ohio), who set a new facility record in the 400 meter dash, remaining undefeated and pushing his streak to an impressive five straight wins, also qualifying automatically. Pierce was also second in the 200 meter dash. Ryan Grear (So., Barnesville, Ohio) finished second in the 60 meter high hurdles, while Brian Ely (Jr., Circleville, Ohio) was third in the 600 meter run. David Gonzalez (Jr. Bolingbrook, Ohio) qualified provisionally in the 5,000 meter run and came home fifth.
