Women’s Track Big Ten Championships Results – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After the first day of competition in the Big Ten Womens Track and Field Indoor Championships, the women of Purdue University are leading the competition with 49 points. They are trailed by second-place Wisconsin, while the Ohio State Buckeyes are seventh. Desiree Jones (So., Akron, Ohio) won the grueling pentathlon competition, an event in which she placed second in last year. The Wisconsin distance medley relay claimed the Badgers sixth consecutive Big Ten victory in the event, and Indiana took second through fourth in the shot put, with all of the Illini throwing over 50 feet on the day. The Championships conclude tomorrow, with the action beginning at 10 p.m. at the French Field House. Featured events include the finals of the high jump (1:00 p.m.), 55 meter dash (2:10 p.m.) and the 55 meter hurdles (2:30 p.m.)
