Buckeyes shutout against No. 2 Duke 9-0 – Ohio State Buckeyes

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – In a tough weekend of strong competition, Ohio State took a 9-0 loss to No. 2-ranked Duke today in South Bend, Ind. The Blue Devils, strong in each position, prevailed with straight-set victories at each singles spot. Ohio State’s Kristy Dascoli (So., Bradenton, Fla.), competing against No. 12-ranked Vanessa Webb was unable to break Webb’s domination, losing 6-1, 6-2.
The Buckeyes fought hard, but came up short in doubles. Duke’s No.14-ranked Webb and Karen Goldstein upset Ohio States Dascoli and Briana Harris (So., Bradenton, Fla.) 8-5. It would be the second-straight upset for the No. 7-ranked doubles team this week.
The Buckeyes (3-3) head back home to play Ball State on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Jesse Owens West Recreation Center.
