In the final tune-up before next weekend’s Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Ohio State men’s and women’s track and field teams had numerous winning performances at today’s Scarlet and Gray Invitational in the French Field House. Among those was the dramatic come-from-behind victory of the men’s 4×400 meter relay, anchored by Andrew Pierce (So., Yellow Springs, Ohio). Pierce also won the 200 meter dash. Ian Connor (So., Lexington, Ohio) scored a double by sweeping the mile and 3,000 meter distance events, while on the women’s front Donica Merriman (So, Trotwood, Ohio) had the best time for the day in the 60 meter dash and 60 meter low hurdles.
The Buckeyes are in action again on Feb. 20-21 for the Big Ten Championships. Ohio State hosts the Big Ten Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships, while the men will travel to Wisconsin.
