Field Hockey Awaits NCAA Tournament Announcement – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State field hockey team will have to wait until Tuesday to find out if it earned an at-large bid to this year’s NCAA Tournament. %^$
%^$”I definitely like our chances,” head coach Anne Wilkinson said. “All of our losses have been to Top 10 opponents. We went undefeated in the nonconference portion of our schedule and went out of our region and beat teams from the Northeast and the South.”%^$
%^$The Buckeyes finished the season with a 12-7 record, including wins over three ranked teams. OSU opened its season with a school record seven-consecutive wins and have been ranked in the Top 12 of the STX/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll the entire season. %^$
%^$”We play in what many people feel is the toughest conference in the country,” Wilkinson said. “Five out of the six teams were consistently ranked in the Top 20 all season long.”%^$
%^$The 1999 NCAA Field Hockey Tournament is a 16-team field. Seven conferences have already been awarded automatic bids for their conference tournament champions.
