Four Women’s Volleyball Players Honored By The Big Ten – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four Ohio State women’s volleyball student-athletes received Big Ten honors today by a vote of the conference coaches. Senior outside hitter Jen Flynn (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was named to the 13-player All-Big Ten squad. She was joined by senior outside hitter Rosie Snow (Colorado Springs, Colo.) who was an honorable mention selection. The Buckeyes were also honored with the Freshman of the Year in setter Katie Virtue (St. Charles, Ill.). Joining Virtue on the All-Freshmen Team was middle blocker Suzie Stiling (Glenview, Ill.).%^$
Flynn, who played the last two seasons at setter, averaged 3.41 kills and 2.45 digs per game in conference play. Snow averaged 3.36 kills and 2.80 digs per game in the Big Ten. Virtue, who ranked sixth in the Big Ten in assists per game at 12.89, averaged 2.09 digs per game in conference play. Stiling averaged 2.41 kills, 1.45 digs and 1.00 blocks per game in the Big Ten%^$
The Ohio State (16-11 overall) women’s volleyball squad continues play this Saturday at the NCAA Championship. Ohio State will face Notre Dame (20-8) Saturday, Dec 4 at 5 p.m. Pacific. Host UCLA (25-3) will play Eastern Washington (24-7) in the second match Saturday. The Saturday winners return to play Sunday for the right to advance to the Central Regional.%^$
