Rosie Snow Named Big Ten Player of the Week – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rosie Snow (Jr., Colorado Spring, Colo) has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week for her outstanding play last week. Ohio State (3-1), ranked 13th nationally, opened the season winning three of four matches including wins over No. 6 Florida and No. 18 UCLA. OSU also defeated Indiana State and lost to No. 14 Hawaii.
%^$Snow totaled 80 kills in 16 games for a 5.0 kills per game average and .340 attack percentage last week. She also collected 23 digs (1.43 per game). She set a personal career-high in kills twice, totaling 26 kills and a .417 hitting percentage against Florida and then 27 kills and a .365 hitting percentage in the Buckeyes’ 3-2 win over UCLA.
%^$Snow and Jen Flynn (Jr., Pittsburgh, Pa.) were named to the all-tournament team at the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic. She had 64 assists and 15 digs in the win over Florida and 44 assists and seven digs against Hawaii. Flynn, who played the first two matches at setter, moved to the outside hitting position in game two against UCLA. She recorded 14 kills and 16 digs in OSU’s first win against UCLA in seven tries.
%^$The Buckeyes are at home this weekend, hosting the Buckeye Invitational. Oregon State plays Nebraska (5 p.m.) and Ohio State hosts Xavier (7 p.m.) in Friday’s semifinals. The third place match is a 5 p.m. Saturday with the Championship match scheduled at 7 p.m.
