EVANSTON, Ill. – Senior defender Matt Daniel (Worthington, Ohio) recorded a goal and assisted on the game winner as the OSU soccer team blanked Northwestern 3-0 at Lakeside Field Sunday afternoon. Peterson Jerome (Jr., Spring Valley, N.Y.) put the Buckeyes up 1-0 in the 27th minute when Daniel fed him a ball down the right side that he touched into the net for the game-winner. Daniel put the Buckeyes up 2-0 with seven minutes remaining in the first half when he buried a direct kick from 22 yards out after a foul. Craig Tomlinson (Sr., Manchester, Jamaica) scored his team leading third goal of the season when he sliced through the Wildcat defense and beat keeper Matt Keeler from 25 yards out in the 56th minute.
Buckeye goalkeeper Jon Lowery (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.) recorded his third shutout of the season and moves his record to 2-3-2 for the year.
