Softball Wins Two at Purdue – Ohio State Buckeyes

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Ohio State (33-21 overall, 9-12 Big Ten) defeated Purdue (28-28, 7-14) 3-0 and 5-2 in a Tuesday afternoon doubleheader. Jodi Dolan pitched a shutout in game one giving up five hits and a walk. Cheryl Palaroan scored two runs and had three stolen bases as the Buckeyes scored single runs in the first three innings to seal the win.
In game two Dolan, the designated hitter, went two for three with a double and a home run, collecting three runs batted in. Her two run blast in the fifth inning broke a two-all tie to put the Buckeyes ahead for good. Toni Hileman went the distance for Ohio State giving up two runs on nine hits with two strikeouts.
Ohio State will travel to Firestone Stadium to face Kent State Thursday in a 7 p.m. doubleheader. The Buckeyes will then travel to Northwestern for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday and a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday to end the regular season.
