Women’s Tennis Loses 4-3 decision to Illinois – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State womens tennis team fell to Illinois 4-3 for its second consecutive loss. The Buckeyes drop to 8-13 overall and 1-8 in the Big Ten, while the Fighting Illini improves to 7-11 and 3-4 in conference play.
%^$Illinois won the doubles point taking two of three doubles matches and an early 1-0 lead. Ohio State kept the match in reach with back-to-back wins by Kristy Dascoli (Fr., Bradenton, Fla.) and Briana Harris (Fr., Bradenton, Fla.). Dascoli continues to shine as a freshman picking up her 23rd win of the season.
%^$Monica Koplas (Jr., Scarborough, Ontario) tied the match for the Buckeyes at 3-3 beating Lisa Panique 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 6 position. The competition was then decided in the final match of the day between Carolina Nahuz (Sr., Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Allison Gottlieb from Illinois in the No. 5 spot. Gottlieb defeated Nahuz in two sets (7-5, 6-1) giving Illinois the win.
%^$Ohio State will be back in action on April 25 when the team travels to State College, Pa. to take on Penn State in its final meet of the season before the Big Ten Championships.%^$
