Track and Field Results from Pacesetter Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Ohio State track and field team competed today in the Pacesetter Invitational held at Marks Field in Terre Haute, Ind. The men’s team finished in third place with 56 points, while the women’s team took fifth place overall with 34 points. Host team Indiana State reigned supreme over the competition, capturing both the men’s and women’s team titles.
Pacing the Buckeyes were John Agriesti (Jr., Galloway, Ohio) with first place in the 3,000 steeplechase (9:27.59) and John Zimmerly (Jr., Elyira, Ohio) with the individual title in the 5,000 (15:10.36). Dwayne Evans (Sr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) took third place in the 400 hurdles (55.09). Ian Connor (Fr., Lexington, Ohio) and David Gonzalez (So., Bolingbrook, Ill.) snagged the third and fourth place spots respectively in the 1,500.
Dynamite newcomer Desiree Jones (Fr., Akron, Ohio) rounded out today’s competition with a second-place finish in the 100 hurdles (14.55) and a fourth-place finish in the shot put (42’6-1/4?). Karen Keys (So., Carrington, N.D.) led the women’s team with a third place finish in the shot put (43’0-1/2?), while teammate Abieda Benjamin (Jr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) also took third in the 800 (2:12.45).
