Madison, Wis. – The Ohio State women’s tennis team dropped its fourth straight match to the 19th ranked Wisconsin Badgers 5-2 at the Nielsen Tennis Staduim, Sunday.
The Buckeyes (7-11, 1-6) could not hold off the Badgers (11-9, 5-1) as Wisconsin won four of six singles matches and also earned the doubles point winning two of three doubles matches.
Ohio State freshman Kristy Dascoli (Bradenton, Fla.) and senior Carolina Nahuz (Sao Paulo, Brazil) finished the weekend with unblemished records going 2-0. Dascoli won her 20th singles’ match of the season downing Wisconsins Barbara Urbanska in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. Nahuz only needed two sets to put away Roz Sweeney at the No. 5 singles position.
In doubles action, Dascoli and Briana Harris (Fr., Bradenton, Fla.) paired up to win Ohio State’s only doubles match at the No. 1 spot.
The Buckeyes return home on Wednesday for an intrastate battle with Miami (Oh.) at the Stickney Tennis Center. The match is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m.
