Women’s Tennis Garners National Ranking – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – In the latest edition of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Rolex Collegiate Tennis Rankings released this week, the Ohio State Women’s Tennis team is ranked 60th nationally. The Buckeyes (6-6 overall, 0-2 in the Big Ten) received 93 votes, moving up ten places from their No. 70 ranking in February.
This week’s ITA rankings also brought good news for an individual Buckeye. Kristy Dascoli (Fr. Bradenton, Fla.) is ranked as the No. 85 collegiate singles player in the United States. Dascoli has established herself as Ohio State’s top singles player in just her first collegiate season, compiling a regular season mark of 11-1, and an overall record of 15-7.
More impressive than her regular season record though, is the quality of the opponents which Dascoli has beaten. So far this season, her victims include three players ranked in the ITA’s top 60.
