Men’s Gymnastics Tops Michigan State – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$EAST LANSING, Mich. — Ohio State beat Michigan State 229.875-228.7 which improved the Buckeyes record to 9-3 overall and 3-1 in the Big Ten. Ohio State’s score of 229.875 is the teams season best score and the second best road score of any team in the nation this year.%^$

%^$ The Buckeyes won the top four positions in the all-around competition. Ohio State’s Doug Stibel (Jr., Canton Mich.) scored 58.0 and Jamie Natalie (Fr., Hockessin, Del.) scored 57.8 which are both career best marks in the all-around for the two. %^$

%^$The Buckeyes pulled away from the Spartans in a close meet on the high bar, which was the last event of the night. Ohio State scored a season high of 39.30 on the high bar which clinched the victory. %^$
%^$%^$
%^$”The routines on the high bar were perfect, every single one,” head coach Miles Avery said. “Michigan State is a tough place to win and we needed our best meet of the season to pull off this victory,” Avery continued. %^$

Ohio State travels to Lincoln, Neb. for the second meet of the season with Nebraska on March 8, at 1 p.m. Ohio State beat Nebraska and Oklahoma in tri-meet in Norman, Okla. on Feb. 6, 1998 by a final score of 227.90-226.60-226.30. %^$
