%^$ COLUMBUS, Oh. – Ohio State freshman, John Monebrake (Pickerington, Ohio) netted two goals today at the Ohio State Sports Field giving the Buckeyes a 3-1 victory over Cleveland State. %^$
%^$ The first half went scoreless, but the Buckeyes stepped up their play in the second scoring three goals. Monebrake broke the scoreless game during the 64th minute scoring his first with assists from both Brooks Humphreys (Jr., Spring, Texas) and Chad Campbell (Jr., Waynesville, Ohio) on a throw-in. The Vikings came back just seven minutes later as Colin Knott put in the only goal for CSU. Two minutes later Tony Monroe (Jr., Indianapolis, Ind.) hammered a shot in, to prevent the Bucks from going into overtime. Monebrake’s second goal came with just one minute remaining in the game, when he came up the center of the field, solo, faked the defender and took a shot that went low, and out of the goalkeepers reach. %^$
%^$ The Buckeyes out-shot the Vikings 12-4. OSU goalkeeper Jon Lowery (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.) had just one save, and CSU goalkeeper Robert Peters finished the game with just two saves. %^$
%^$ CSU was received two yellow cards. Both cards were given as a result of conduct. The first to Dan Garel and the second to Frank Ungaro. Although it was a physical match, the Vikings had just 14 fouls while the Bucks ended with 19. %^$
%^$ The Buckeyes play host to Cincinnati, Sunday at 2 p.m. at the OSU Sports Field in their last home match of the season. %^$
