COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State head women’s lacrosse coach Amy Bokker today announced the hiring of Lyndsey Munoz as a volunteer coach for the Buckeyes. She will work primarily with the Buckeyes’ goalkeepers.
“We are so excited to welcome Lyndsey to Buckeye Nation,” said Bokker “I was so proud when she called and said she wanted to get into college coaching. Having coached Lyndsey makes having her as part of our staff even more special. We are so excited about the knowledge, experience and energy that Lyndsey will bring to our goalkeepers.”
Munoz is a 2014 graduate of Stanford University and received her degree in communications. She was a three year starting goalkeeper for Bokker (2011-14) where she finished fourth in program history in career saves (400) and second in games played (76). As a senior in 2014, Munoz helped the Cardinal to a 14-4 overall record.
“Words can’t describe how excited I am to join the staff at Ohio State University,” Munoz said. “I’m so grateful for this opportunity to not only help student-athletes succeed on and off the lacrosse field, but also learn from the incredible coaching staff with Amy Bokker, Kara Mupo, and Kristen Carr. I’m especially looking forward to coaching alongside my former head coach at Stanford as she made a great impact on me during my time. In fact, in nearly every coaching endeavor I’ve pursued since graduating college, I’ve come back to the principles Amy taught us.”
The Annapolis, Md., native has spent the last five years developing athletes through training and lifestyle adjustments through sports performance training. Munoz is the owner of LM Lax Training based in Los Angeles, Calif. She previously worked as the head coach of the girl’s lacrosse team at Westlake High School and helped them win back to back league championships in 2018 and 2019. She took her 2017 team from an 8-9 record to a 14-2 mark in 2019 and a third place showing in the CIF Southern Section Tournament. The goalie specialist was also the program director at the Washington Inner City Lacrosse Foundation for two years and brought the game of lacrosse to over 1,5000 inner city youth.
