
Christy Blough Earns Academic All-America First Team Honors

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A month after leading Ohio State to the 2016 NCAA Men’s Volleyball Championship, setter Christy Blough gathered more accolades in the shape of Academic All-America First Team recognition on Thursday (June 9). He is one of just 15 student-athletes nationally to earn First Team laurels on the Academic All-America Division I Men’s At-Large Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The men’s at-large teams are selected from a pool of teams competing in the following sports: fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.
Blough is joined by fellow Buckeye student-athlete, Emeric Quade, a senior gymnast garnering Academic All-America Second Team distinction.

Blough ranked second nationally averaging 11.10 assists per set during the Buckeyes’ championship campaign. The two-time Academic All-District selection also picked up All-America Second Team standing for his athletic efforts on the court.
