
Buckeye Schedule Revealed

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State fencing program will return to collegiate action Nov. 6-7 in the Penn State Open in State College, Pa. The invitational precedes four dual meets for the Buckeyes before postseason competition begins. Ohio State is also slated to have competitors at USA Fencing events throughout the 2021-22 campaign.
The Buckeyes will host the Elite Invitational, two days of team matchups, Dec. 4-5 in French Field House. In January, Ohio State will travel to the St. John’s Duals in Queens, N.Y., Jan. 22 and compete in the UPenn Duals the next day in Philadelphia. Regular season competition ends Feb. 5-6 at the Northwestern Duals in Evanston, Ill.
Ohio State will return to Evanston Feb. 26-27 for the conference championships hosted by the Wildcats. NCAA Regionals follow March 12 in Appleton, Wis., and Notre Dame, Ind., will be the site of the 2022 NCAA Championships March 24-27.
Along with the collegiate events, the Buckeyes will also have competitors at USA Fencing championships, including the October, December, January and April Division 1 North American Cup, the Division 1 National Championships in April and the Summer National Championships and July Challenge in the summer. A highlight of the USA Fencing schedule is the December North American Cup, which will be held Dec. 9-12 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus.
Ohio State started the year hosting the individual OSU Invitational and the team OSU Duals. Both the men’s and women’s programs were 5-0 in the dual matchups. At the invitational, Eva Mazur (epee), Eleonore Perrier (sabre) and Camilla Rivano (foil) all won gold for the women. For the men, Nolan Williams (sabre) and Henry Lange (epee) finished first and Nathan Wriedt (foil) notched a runner-up finish.
