Women post 5-0 mark in the event
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State fencing programs closed out that weekend at the Dave Micahnik Penn Invitational Sunday in Philadelphia. The No. 7-ranked Buckeye women were a perfect 5-0 on the day, with the No. 5 men 3-2.

The Buckeye women (20-11 overall) downed NJIT 24-3, topped both No. 18 Penn State and Wagner 18-9, defeated No.8 Penn 15-12 and ended the day with a 14-13 victory over No. 9 Yale.

The Ohio State men (16-13) defeated Wagner 25-2, beat NJIT 21-6 and topped No. 9 Penn State 15-12, dropping 15-12 matches against No. 7 Penn and No. 10 Yale.
The women's epee squad was undefeated on the day (5-0). Sally Fan led the group with nine wins, Julia Semikin had eight victories and Gloria Klughardt won seven bouts. The women's sabre squad was 4-1, paced by Natalia Botello who was 8-1 and Maria Alexe who posted six victories. Women's foil was 3-2 Sunday. Raiyan Moradi-Bidhendi posted eight victories and Masha Cojocari had seven wins.

The men's foil and men's epee squads were both 3-2, with men's sabre 2-3. Foilist Albert Bagdány led all men with nine wins and Mitchell Huth was next in men's foil with six victories. In men's epee, Viktor Kulcsar captured eight bouts and Matthew Bülau and Nowell Gibson picked up five wins each. In men's sabre, Hank Bauer was first with eight victories and Carter Berrio won six bouts.
