Women’s Volleyball Katie Virtue Selected To All-Big Ten Team – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State setter Katie Virtue (So., St. Charles, Ill./St. Francis) was one of 13 players named to the 2000 All-Big Ten Volleyball Team as selected by a vote of the conference coaches. Named as honorable mention selections for the Buckeyes were outside hitter Sue Calligaris (So., Palermo, Italy/Liceo Linguistico) and middle blocker Suzie Stiling (So., Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South).
Virtue averaged 14.44 assists and 2.82 digs in conference play. Calligaris averaged 3.55 kills per game in Big Ten matches while hitting .321. She averaged 2.71 digs per game. Stiling had a 3.53 kills per game average and hit .304. She averaged 1.37 blocks per game.
Ohio State (24-6) returns to action Friday, Dec. 1 in the first round action of the NCAA Tournament when they face Ball State (25-6) at 7 p.m. Notre Dame (25-6) plays Cincinnati (24-9) in the 5 p.m. match. The Friday winners meet Saturday at 7 p.m. for a berth in the central regional.
