Mickayla Stuckey joined the Buckeye coaching staff in August of 2023. She currently serves as an assistant coach and in an operations role for the Buckeyes. She primarily coaches and choreographs floor.Â
In her first season as a Buckeye, Stuckey helped the Buckeyes to six event titles on floor. Buckeyes earned scores of 9.900 or higher 35 times on the year and won eight individual event titles on the apparatus. Stuckey coached Ella Hodges to regular season All-America honors on floor, becoming the program's first regular season All-American since 2013. Â
Stuckey is a 2023 graduate of Eastern Michigan where she was also a student-athlete on the Eagles' gymnastics team for the last four seasons. She competed in 40 meets on floor and beam during her collegiate career. She helped her team to a MAC championship in 2021 and was named co-captain and the Eastern Michigan Teammate of the Year award winner in 2023.
The Union City, Ind. native is a talented dancer and choreographer and choreographed all her routines during her time at Eastern Michigan. She also utilizes those skills in the same capacity at Ohio State.
Stuckey is no stranger to the Buckeye coaching staff's style, having trained with associate head coach Luke Wasson as a young gymnast and worked at Ohio State summer camps in the past. In all, she brings eight years of coaching experience to Ohio State.
