2014 (Junior Season): Joined the team shortly before the start of the 2014 campaign … earned the starting shortstop job in early March and ended up starting 42 games … named the team’s Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Player … hit .276 with 26 runs scored and 14 RBI … batted .340 in Big Ten-only games … had six multi-hit games and three multi-RBI games … went 3-for-4 with the game-winning hit in the bottom of the eighth inning in a 10-9 victory over Ohio (4/9) … hit a solo home run in the Buckeyes’ Big Ten opener vs. Michigan State (3/21) … .921 fielding percentage with 81 assists … Academic All-Big Ten.
While at Akron: Named to the Mid America Conference All-Freshman team in 2012 … hit .333 with five doubles, 11 RBI and 33 runs scored while starting all 54 games for the Zips … hit safely in 35 of Akron’s 54 games … went 4-for-4 with two doubles in a 4-0 win over St. Francis (Pa.) on April 25 … stole 17 bases and finished the season with a .922 fielding percentage … her 157 assists are fifth most in a season in Akron history … played in 26 games as a sophomore in 2013.
While at Teays Valley: Was one of the top ranked Ohio recruits … earned second team All-Mid-State League as a freshman and first team honors as a sophomore, junior and senior … also as a junior and senior earned honorable mention all-district … led her team to a MSL Championship in 2008 and 2010 … squad was district runner-up in 2008 and regional runner-up in 2009 … a three sport athlete who also earned first team all-league honors in golf and basketball.
Personal: A psychology major in the College of Arts and Sciences … wants to be a psychiatric nurse … enjoys rollerblading, running and reading … lists her greatest sports thrill as beating Grove City in the district finals when she threw out her best friend at third base who would have scored the winning run.
