• Promoted to assistant coach in June 2019 after serving as the program’s volunteer coach during the ’19 season
• In 2023 and 2024, Maloney helped coach the Buckeyes to 23-10 and 22-9 records, a MIVA regular-season title in 2023 and MIVA tournament titles in both 2023 and 2024. Ohio State made both the 2023 and 2024 NCAA Tournaments in Fairfax, Virginia, and Long Beach, California.
• Owns nearly a decade of collegiate coaching experience, spending stints with the Stephen F. Austin University (2013-14) and Oregon State University (2011-12) women’s teams before moving to Columbus in 2015
• Served as Ohio State women’s volleyball director of operations for the 2015 NCAA ‘Sweet 16’ season
• Assistant director, gym manager and ’14 Black’ head coach at the Elite Volleyball Training Center from May 2016-June 2019
• Assisted the SFAU Ladyjacks in a 24-win campaign which included the 2014 Southland Conference regular season championships thanks to a 16-0 league mark with 13 sweeps
• Prior to arrival in Corvallis, coached for NEVILLIZMS – a private company specializing in individualized volleyball training and founded by former U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Bill Neville
• The Richmond, Va., native played four seasons (2007-10) at George Mason University, starting as both an outside hitter and libero during his time as a Patriot
• Two-year team captain (2009-10) and 2008 EIVA All-East Second Team selection
• Graduated with an English degree and earned Dean’s List honors
