2012 (Freshman Season): Did not compete for the Buckeyes; named an Ohio State Scholar-Athlete.
Prior to Ohio State: Trained and competed as an all-around competitor for the OSU Boys Club under coach DeRon McIntyre … two-time national qualifier and national event competitor.
Personal: Son of Richard and Kimberly Barnes … has one sibling, Hayley … plans to attend law school after completion of undergraduate studies … favorite pastimes include the outdoors, movies, music, friends and sports … lists greatest sports thrill as coming back from a near season-ending injury and qualifying for nationals during senior year of high school … member of the Ohio State Politics, Society and Law Scholars Program.
