After an outstanding collegiate career for the Buckeyes, Julieta Toledo joined the Ohio State fencing staff as the director of operations before the start of the 2023-24 campaign. She moved into an assistant coach role in Summer 2024. Â
A native of Tijuana, Mexico, Toledo was a three-time All-American, had two Top 8 finishes at the NCAA Championships and was a three-time NCAA qualifier. She earned First Team All-America honors as a freshman in 2020 (when the NCAA Championships were canceled) and then garnered second-team nods in 2022 and '23, placing sixth at the 2022 NCAA Championships and seventh the following year as a senior. Toledo was a three-time all-conference selection and won the CCFCÂ individual title as a senior. She placed in the Top 5 at NCAA Regionals three times. Toledo was part of four conference championships teams.Â
Toledo fenced at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games for Mexico in individual and team sabre and competed in the Olympic Trials in Summer 2021. She was the 2019 Mexican National Champion.Â
Toledo earned her bachelor's degree in film studies from Ohio State in Spring 2023. She was a two-time USFCA All-Academic Team selection and an Ohio State Scholar-Athlete honoree. In 2023 she received the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award for Ohio State women's fencing.Â
