Shears Cards Final-Round Even-Par 71 to Lead Buckeyes at Northrop Grumman

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. – Senior Adeena Shears continued a steady week for the Ohio State women's golf team, carding a final-round even-par 71 to tie for 21st Monday at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. The Buckeyes tied for 15th for the tournament at 52-over-par as a team.
The Buckeyes return to play at the Westbrook Spring Invitational Feb. 23-24 in Peoria, Ariz.
Shears made five-consecutive pars to open her round and birdied two holes to bounce back from a pair of bogeys for the third even-par round of her senior campaign. Sophomore Lauren Peter posted a 7-over 78 Tuesday to tie for 53rd while junior Yukie Sasaki rebounded from a difficult round Monday to post a 1-over 72 to tie for 58th. Sophomores Aneka Seumanutafa and Skylar Thompson finished tied for 67th and tied for 71st, respectively, after Thompson carded a 1-over 73 in the final round. Senior Alex Wright, playing as an individual, finished 82nd, while Sofia Seldemirova rounded out the Ohio State lineup in 83rd place.

For the tournament, Shears tied for third with 38 pars and in par-3 scoring at 1-under.
