
Ohio State Scores Season-High 196.900 to Finish Second at Big Five Meet

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 22 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team finished second of five on Friday evening at the B1G Big Five Meet in Toledo, Ohio. The Buckeyes scored a season-best 196.900 for the fourth-best team score in program history. Jojo Warga earned her first event title of the season with a 9.925 on beam.
The Buckeyes saw five individuals record career-highs. Lexie Edwards tied her career-best 9.825 on the uneven bars, while Sydney Jennings posted a career-best 9.900 on beam. On floor, Alexis Hankins tied her career-best 9.925 to lead the team. Raina Malas (9.925) and Kaitlyn Grimes (9.775) both had career-high scores on the vault to wrap up the meet.
MEET NOTES
- Ohio State put together the best team score of the opening rotation with a 49.125 on uneven bars. Nicole Riccardi led the Buckeyes with a 9.900 while Edwards tied her career-high for the third time this season. Colby Miller (9.850), Stephanie Berger (9.800) and Zoe Schweitzer (9.750) also posted scoring routines in the event.
- The Buckeyes scored a season-high 49.250 on beam. Warga led OSU with a 9.925 in the first beam routine of her collegiate career. Jennings posted a career-high 9.900. Berger and Emma Pritchard were right behind with a 9.850 and 9.825, respectively. Schweitzer and Alexis Hankins rounded out the Buckeyes’ lineup with a 9.750.
- Ohio State’s 49.350 on floor was its second-highest total of the season. Hankins’ 9.925 tied her career-high and led the Buckeyes. Edwards scored a 9.900, while Jenna Hlavach and Claire Gigliani both scored an 9.875. Savannah Gonzalez posted a 9.800 to round out OSU’s scorers.
- OSU concluded the meet with its highest vault score (49.150) of the season as both Malas (9.925) and Grimes (9.800) earned career-high scores. Edwards and Jennings scored a 9.825. Hlavach concluded scoring with a 9.775.
