LEBANON, Ill. – The No. 14 Ohio State men’s volleyball team fell 3-1 (17-25, 25-20, 25-20,25-22) to McKendree on Saturday night. The loss puts the Buckeyes at 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the MIVA while the Bearcats improve to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in MIVA contests.
Jack Stevens recorded a match-high 12 kills and served three aces. Sotiris Siapanis hit .500 (11-2-18) with three blocks. Jacob Pasteur chipped in nine kills and a career-high five aces. Luke Meidel had 10 digs while Michael Wright added 38 assists and nine digs.
SET 1: Pasteur served three consecutive aces during OSU’s 5-0 run to start the match. The Buckeyes never looked back as they took the set, 25-17.
SET 2: The teams were evenly matched until McKendree went up 21-16 before closing the frame, 25-20.
SET 3: Ohio State had a 7-5 edge to open the set. The Bearcats jumped in front and rode the momentum to a 25-20 victory.
SET 4: After trailing for most of the rally, the Buckeyes tied the score at 19-all. McKendree got back in front and sealed the set, 25-22.
