COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s tennis team is undefeated at 3-0 and is entering the ITA Kickoff Weekend ranked in the Top 5 after their convincing 4-0 defeat of Big Ten rival, #23 Illinois last Saturday. They will be facing Arizona State in the first round and either No. 17 North Carolina on their home court or Northwestern should they advance. Arizona State begins at 9 a.m. while the consolation and championships are set for Noon and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
- Ohio State is 25-1 in the ITA Kickoff Weekend with the first loss coming last year to Virginia.
- The Buckeyes are 3-2 all time vs. Arizona State with their wins coming in 2018, ‘19, and ‘20 while their losses occurred in the 1980 and ’89 seasons.
- Ohio State is 10-3 all time vs. North Carolina with the first matchup dating back to 2004; UNC has had the upper hand as of recent as they have defeated the Buckeyes in their last two matches.
- The Buckeyes are 50-47 all time vs. Northwestern; they faced off for the first time in 1913 and the Buckeyes have won the last 19 matches with their most recent loss occurring during the 2006 season.
