No. 4 Buckeyes Fall to No. 15 Georgia

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 4-ranked Ohio State women's tennis team saw its six-match winning streak end with a 7-0 loss at No. 15 Georgia Wednesday afternoon in Athens, Ga.
The Buckeyes, now 8-4 (1-0 B1G), head west for two Big Ten matches this weekend. The squad will take on Iowa at 6 p.m. ET Friday and Nebraska at noon ET Sunday. They will play a fourth straight road match at Arizona State March 27 before returning to Columbus and Big Ten play April 1 vs. Michigan and April 3 vs. Michigan State.
Georgia (8-2, 4-0 SEC) won the doubles point, posting wins on courts two and three. The Bulldogs won a matchup of ranked teams on court one, with No. 62-ranked Morgan Coppoc and Ania Hertel topping No. 15-ranked Irina Cantos Siemers and Sydni Ratliff, 6-2. The Buckeye duo of Kathleen Jones and Isabelle Boulais was a 6-4 winner on court three over No. 64-ranked Guillermina Grant and Meg Kowalski. The Bulldogs clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win by Mell Reasco and Dasha Vidmanova on court two over Lucia Marzal and Kolie Allen.
The match was played indoors, with four courts available. The Bulldogs won three matches in straight sets to clinch the team victory. No. 25-ranked Reasco downed No. 19 Boulais in a Top 25 matchup on court two, No. 113 Vidmanova defeated No. 43 Ratliff on court three and on court four Coppoc topped Shelly Bereznyak to clinch the team victory. On court one, No. 4-ranked Cantos Siemers won the first set but No. 49 Lea Ma rallied to claim the next two sets.
Courts five and six started as matches cleared. Allen fell to No. 71 Kowalski on court five and Marzal was defeated by No. 122 Hertel.
