No. 11 Ohio State Sweeps Home Stand, Downs SFU 3-0

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 11 Ohio State (3-0) completed a sweep of the three-game home stand to start the season with a 3-0 win (25-18, 25-13, 25-20) over St. Francis (1-1) Wednesday at the Covelli Center.

Sophomore Jacob Pasteur led the way with 14 kills, hitting .500 along the way. He added five digs and an ace in the win.

Samuel Clark owned the team lead with five aces and tied for the team high with seven digs. He also had eight kills.

The Buckeyes will take some time off before traveling to California to face UCLA Jan. 21 and USC Jan. 22.

How it Happened

Set 1

Jacob Pasteur recorded six of his game-high 14 kills in the first set as the Buckeyes cruised to a 25-18 win. The Buckeyes hit .409 in the opening set.

Set 2

Justin Howard got rolling with four of his five kills in the game during Ohio State’s 25-13 win in set two. The Buckeyes improved on their first set hitting percentage at .440 in set two. The Red Flash hit -.083 in the second and .090 for the match.

Set 3

Pasteur helped secure the win with five kills on eight attacks in the third. Noah Platfoot had four of his seven digs in the third as the Buckeyes sealed with match with a 25-20 win.
