COLUMBUS, Ohio – Nine Ohio State softball student-athletes were recognized as 2020-21 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Tuesday afternoon. In order to be eligible, student-athletes must have a 3.5 or better grade-point average for the 2020-21 academic year.
The Buckeyes honored who are currently on the active roster included sophomore Hannah Bryan, senior Niki Carver, junior Tegan Cortelletti, sophomore Kirsten Eppele and sophomore Taylor Heckman.
In addition to the nine NFCA All-American Scholar-Athletes, Ohio State also had 22 OSU Scholar-Athletes and 13 Academic All-Big Ten honorees in 2020-21. The number of OSU Scholar-Athletes represented 91.6 percent of the roster.
The Buckeyes wrap up their fall ball schedule this weekend with a single game at Akron on Sunday at 3 p.m. Last weekend, Ohio State hosted the Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic on Sunday with contests versus Bowling Green and Thomas More. On Sunday, the Buckeyes hosted a Scarlet vs. Gray intrasquad game.
