COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State field hockey team is set to being Big Ten Conference play this weekend at No. 5 Iowa. The Buckeyes (4-3) and Hawkeyes (7-1) will play a pair of games at Grant Field in Iowa City, Iowa Sept. 25-27.

Ohio State starts its October slate with a home weekend of Big Ten opponents in No. 1 Northwestern and Indiana at Buckeye Varsity Field. The Buckeyes and Wildcats meet at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2. Ohio State will face off against the Hoosiers on Sunday, Oct. 4 at noon. Admission and parking for Ohio State field hockey home games are free. The games will be streamed on B1G+.

Briefly on the Buckeyes
- The Buckeyes begin Big Ten Conference play 4-3 on the year. Ohio State earned a top five win over Virginia and added victories against Bellarmine, Delaware and Cornell.
- Ohio State finished the 2025 conference season seventh in the regular season and advanced to the semifinals of the 2026 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament. The Buckeyes will play eight conference games this year, with four-game road slate starting this weekend at Iowa.
- Junior forward Sienna Golden leads the team in points and goals through seven games of the 2026 season. Golden has recorded a career-high five goals and 10 points on the year.
- Thirteen Buckeyes have recorded a point this year for the Buckeyes with seven tallying goals – Golden (5), Emily Barker (3), Raleigh Kerst (1), Carmela Maro (1), Victoria Kutz (1), Grace Dixon (1), Phillippa Jowett (1), Anne Marie Krebs (1) and Lea DeWan (1).
- In the cage for Ohio State, junior Maddie Stevens and freshman Avery Alleva have split time. Stevens has started four games and is 2-2 on the year with a shutout and a penalty shootout win. Alleva made a career and season-high six saves against Virginia and Delaware and has one shutout on the year with a 2-1 record. She is top 20 in the country with a .767 save percentage.
- The Buckeye defense has held four opponents to less than 10 shots on the year, with a season-low three shots allowed against Cornell (Sept. 13).
- Ohio State is second in the conference with 7.00 penalty corners per game. Both of the Buckeyes' goals in their last game against Boston College were scored off of penalty corners.
- The Buckeyes are captained by Katie Fichtner, Anne Marie Krebs and Victoria Kutz. Fichtner is a three-time captain, Krebs is in her second season as a captain and Kutz is wearing the band for the first season.
- Ohio State head coach Jarred Martin is 96-78 in his career at Ohio State. Martin is assisted by associate head coach Kate Lipton and assistant coach Patrick Cota.
- This weekend's matchups between Ohio State and Iowa are the 72nd and 73rd meetings between the two programs.
- Iowa leads the all-time series, 54-17.
- Ohio State's last win in the series came the last time the teams met in Iowa City in 2023. The Buckeyes earned a 2-1 victory in the contest.
