COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 3 seed Ohio State (32-4) faces off against No. 6 TCU (24-5) at 1 p.m. Thursday in the quarterfinals of the 2026 NCAA Tournament at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia.
The Buckeyes faced the Horned Frogs twice in tournament-play in 2024. In the 2024 NCAA Tournament Semifinals, TCU defeated Ohio State, 4-2, and went on to capture their first NCAA Championship. Earlier in the season, the Buckeyes defeated the Horned Frogs, 4-3, in the 2024 ITA National Indoor Team Championship, earning their third indoor championship in program history.
Ohio State is the only university with both the men's and women's tennis programs in the 2026 Elite Eight. The women's team will face off against Pepperdine at 1 p.m. Friday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
The men's and women's tennis programs also both made it to the finals of the 2026 ITA National Indoors Championship.

- The Buckeyes advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Buffalo and California in the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament; and sweeping No. 14 Illinois in the Super Regionals. All three matches were played in Columbus, Ohio, with Ohio State outscoring opponents 12-0.
- It was the Buckeyes second-consecutive year defeating the Fighting Illini three times in one season.
- Alexander Bernard and Nikita Filin earned two wins in the sweep over Illinois. Filin extended his singles win streak to 19 and Bernard added his 91st singles win in his career at Ohio State.
- The Buckeyes are 4-2 on the season at a neutral site.
- Ohio State owns a 76-25 record in the NCAA Tournament and has secured runner-up finishes in 2009, 2018 and most recently in 2023.
- At home, the Buckeyes finished the season 19-1, sweeping a total of 16 opponents and scoring 86 points compared to nine for the opponents.
- It is the 18th time Ohio State has advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, most recently being in 2024. The Buckeyes are 8-9 all-time in the quarterfinals.
- Ohio State is 3-3 against TCU all-time, all six matches have been in tournament play with two matches occurring in the ITA National Indoor Tournament and four matches being played in the NCAA Tournament.
- TCU hosted and swept Denver and Cornell in the first round and second round of the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the Super Regionals where they faced No. 18 Stanford, defeating the Cardinal, 4-0.Â
- If the Buckeyes advance, it will be their ninth appearance in the Final Four. They will play the winner of No. 2 Texas and No. 10 Baylor (10 a.m. Thursday). Ohio State is 1-1 against the Longhorns and 0-1 against the Bears this year.
- In the last ITA singles rankings until May 20, five Buckeyes landed on the leaderboard. Aidan Kim is the highest Buckeye at No. 11 followed by Preston Stearns at No. 31, Jack Anthrop at No. 32, Alex Okonkwo at No. 47 and Filin at No. 95.
- Three Ohio State pairs are ranked in the latest ITA doubles rankings with Brandon Carpico and Filin leading the way at No. 8, Bernard and Okonkwo at No. 44 and Kim and Bryce Nakashima at No. 45.
