No. 3 Buckeyes Close Weekend with 4-0 Win at Iowa

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 3 ranked Ohio State women's tennis team closed out a stretch of three road matches in five days undefeated, downing Iowa 4-0 Sunday in Iowa City, Iowa. Ohio State is now 17-3 overall, while the Hawkeyes are 10-11 (4-6 B1G). Ohio State was a 4-1 winner against both No. 17 Michigan and Nebraska to open the road trip.

The Buckeye duo of Flora Johnson and Luciana Perry won in a tiebreak to clinch the doubles point vs. Iowa. Teah Chavez, who paired with Hephzibah Oluwadare for a doubles win, Perry and Nao Nishino all claimed their singles matches in straight sets for the team victory.

- The teams split the first two doubles matches, with No. 13-ranked Hephzibah Oluwadare and Teah Chavez winning 6-2 on court two against Tereza Dejnozkova and Emma Tothova and Iowa taking court three 6-2.
- On court one, the Buckeyes' No. 53-ranked duo of Flora Johnson and Luciana Perry prevailed in a tiebreak, 7-6 (3), against No. 49 Daianne Hayashida and Mia Mack for the doubles point.
- In singles, Chavez, ranked fourth, was a 6-3, 6-1 winner over Hayashida on court two for a 2-0 Ohio State lead.
- No. 5 Perry followed, as she defeated No. 52 Mack, 6-4, 6-1, on court one.
- No. 75 Nao Nishino clinched Ohio State's win on court four. After taking the first set vs. Tothova in a tiebreak, Nishino did not drop a game in the second set for a 7-6 (5), 6-0 win.
- The remaining matches were abandoned. On court three, Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev won the second set to force a third and was up 2-0 in the third. On court five, Audrey Spencer was down a set and had fought to get on back serve in the second set, 5-4. Johnson's court six match was tied at one in the third set, with Johnson winning the first set and Pia Kranholdt taking the second.
