Ohio State Sweeps Nebraska, 4-0, in quarterfinals of Big Ten Tournament

No. 2 Seed Buckeyes Advance to Play Illinois or Wisconsin at 6 p.m. on Friday
COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 2 seed Ohio State swept the No. 10 seed Nebraska 4-0 Thursday in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals at Libbey Park in Ojai, California.
Ohio State now owns a 14-match winning streak and owns the longest streak in the conference with 11-consecutive wins against Big Ten opponents. The Buckeyes defeated Nebraska in back-to-back matches dating back to Sunday where they swept the Cornhuskers, 4-0.
Ohio State grabbed the doubles point with a 6-3 victory on court one and a 6-4 win from Aidan Kim and Bryce Nakashima on court three. Kim and Nakashima earned their second victories of the day in quick two-set matches, while Nikita Filin clinched the Ohio State sweep over the Cornhuskers with a 7-6(4), 6-3 win on court four.
In the stretch of 20 years, Ohio State has gone on to win the Big Ten Tournament Title 14 times. The Buckeyes are seeking their third Big Ten title since 2020.
On Friday, the Buckeyes will enter the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament in Ojai, California to face the winner of the Illinois and Wisconsin quarterfinals match. If Ohio State advances

To clinch the match, Aidan Kim and Bryce Nakashima defeated Nebraska 6-4 on court three after winning a break to get up 5-3.

On court two, Alexander Bernard and Alex Okonkwo faced off against No. 78 Joan Torres Espinosa and Leo Linquet. They were down 3-5 when court three clinched the doubles point for Ohio State.

On court five, Bryce Nakashima was right behind Kim as he swept the first set 6-0 and earned the third point for Ohio State with a 6-1 second set victory.

With the match on the line, Nikita Filin defeated Jeri Lassila with a tiebreaker 7-4 win in the first set and a 6-3 second set victory to sweep the Cornhuskers 4-0 and push the Buckeyes through to the semifinals.

Jack Anthrop and Alexander Bernard were down a set and up in the second set when the match was called.
