COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State junior goalie Caleb Fyock was named the Big Ten Conference Specialist of the Week for his performance in the team's win over Johns Hopkins last weekend.
Fyock made a season high tying 14 saves in the game and finished the day with a 70 percent save percentage for the second time this season. He also picked up five ground balls in the game. The Bowie, Md. native helped the team hold then-ranked No. 10 Hopkins to its lowest scoring game of the season.
Fyock made six saves in the second quarter to hold the Blue Jays scoreless in the frame to help the Buckeyes take the lead into halftime. He made a game-saving stop with 10 seconds left on the clock to give Ohio State the 7-6 win, the team's first victory over Johns Hopkins at home since 2022.
Fyock leads the country with a 7.34 goals-against average and his save percentage (.579) ranks second in the conference. He has helped the team to the best scoring defense in the country, allowing just 7.00 goals per game.
